I am a first-year Ph.D. student at Programming Logic Lab., Univ. of Tsukuba, supervised by Yukiyoshi Kameyama. My research interests are in the foundation and application of reliable metaprogramming.

Research Interests

  • Domain-specific optimizations: General-purpose compilers (clang, javac, etc.) perform only limited optimizations, as they lack domain-specific awareness of their workloads such as neural networks, robotic control systems, or encryption algorithms. I am interested in case studies of multi-stage programming to perform advanced, application-tailored optimizations.

  • Robust foundations of metaprogramming: Once you admit the value of metaprogramming, you will find that popular metaprogramming techniques — such as macros in C, Rust and Lisps — are often ad hoc and error-prone. I am interested in developing sound infrastructures for metaprogramming.

  • Implementation of metaprogramming systems: Theoretical developments of multi-stage programming have frequently outpaced their implementations. I am interested in bridging this gap by integrating the theory into practical programming languages.
